Sylvia Foust

I was a rebellious preacher’s kid who did my best to find my way without Jesus. As I dangled my feet in the waters of spiritualality I asked God to reveal himself to me. Jesus spoke! He told me to choose between Him and everything else. With the exasperated tender voice of a parent he said, “Sylvia, I AM THE way, THE truth and THE life. No one comes to the Father but by Me. CHOOSE.” At age 40 I came home to Him. I recently and suddenly lost my husband of 47 years which led me to completely rely on God for the first time in my life. Through this He powerfully called me to YWAM. My DTS was completed with Fall 2025 Crossroads and Outreach in Thailand. Recently retired from my career in the Finance IT world, I can’t wait to see what God has planned for my life. I am an artist and craftswoman who enjoys creating art and supporting the arts. Five grandchildren, my two daughters and son in laws are cheering me on from the mainland. Everything in my life has brought me to this unexpected journey. Standing at the crossroads I am filled with His hope and joy for what the future holds.

Fall 2025 I attended Crossroads DTS (Discipleship Training School) at the University of the Nations, YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Kona, Hawaii. This was a 3 month school with a 2 month outreach to Thailand. I am currently back in Kona, this time as a staff member for the Crossroads DTS. In December I am co-leading a group to Arusha, Tanzania. (ywamarusha.org)
