My name is Joshua Serrao, and together with my wife, Sera, and our children, Joshua and Ellia, we are following God’s call into full-time missions as a family. With our home Church Cornerstone Korean Baptist Church and YWAM, our heart is simple: To know God and make Him known. Family and discipleship are at the heart of our calling. We believe God can use the entire family in missions—growing together, serving together, and sharing the love of Jesus together. We are passionate about family discipleship, evangelism, serving communities, and coming alongside other missionaries wherever God sends us. Our desire is to live surrendered to Jesus, strengthen families, make disciples, go where He leads, and help others encounter His love. 제 이름은 Joshua Serrao(조슈아 세라오) 입니다.
Our story is one of God’s pursuit, forgiveness, restoration, and calling. Sera grew up in church but describes herself as a “Sunday Christian,” depending on the faith of others rather than knowing Jesus for herself. After painful family separation and struggles in our marriage, she entered one of the darkest seasons of her life. On January 9, 2019, Sera fell to her knees, repenting and crying out to God. Her circumstances hadn’t changed, but she had. She developed a hunger for Scripture, prayer, and God’s presence. The closet that once represented her darkest thoughts became her prayer room—a place of joy with Jesus. Meanwhile, I was running in the opposite direction. By 2024, I had achieved much of what the world calls success, yet I was angry, empty, living in sin, and losing my family. I committed to giving my life completely to God for 30 days. Weeks later, praying alone on a country road, I confessed everything. Broken and weeping, I cried, “How could You ever want me?” And I heard: “And He still wants you.” My life changed. As I came to repentance, I knew there could be no more hidden places in our marriage. When I offered to confess everything, Sera prayed. She felt the Holy Spirit say, “As I forgave you, you should forgive him. He is forgiven under Jesus’ blood.” She chose forgiveness. Jesus restored our marriage and family, then called our family to go. We sold our home and stepped into missions through YWAM Family DTS in Kona, followed by outreach in Vanuatu and Fiji. God showed us that families are not an obstacle to missions—families can be powerful in missions. Today, with Cornerstone Korean Baptist Church and YWAM, we follow Jesus in missions. Through Eternal Warriors Ministry, we desire to strengthen families, make disciples, share the Gospel, support missionaries, and go wherever He leads. Jesus still pursues. Jesus still forgives. Jesus still restores. Our answer is YES. To know God and make Him known.
