Daniel Carlock

My name is Daniel Carlock. I’m a former Student Pastor, Ocean Camp Director and Reform School Director with over ten years of ESL teaching experience in China. My wife, 王金华 (Anna), and I are currently based in China and preparing a long-term move to Thailand. Our long-term vision is The Store House — a free space for local Thai children and a place of Christian presence and resources for families. We are starting much smaller and more relationally, beginning with a simple free hospitality space while we become rooted in the community.

I served as a, Student Pastor, Ocean Camp Director and Reform school Director in the U.S. for years, where I walked with young people and families through faith, discipleship, and real-life challenges. Currently I work as an ESL Teacher in China, gaining a deep appreciation for cross-cultural ministry and the needs of families raising children in a complex world. My wife and I have a shared burden for families — especially those who are navigating living abroad and in socio-economic uncertainty. We see the isolation many face and the opportunity to create community that points people to Christ. This vision flows directly from our combined experiences in pastoral care, education, and cross-cultural family life. We are taking it one faithful step at a time — first relocating and becoming rooted, then growing a simple free hospitality presence while we continue building toward the fuller Store House vision

We are still in the early preparation phase, currently based in China, and preparing for a long-term move to Thailand. Our long-term vision remains The Store House — a free space for local Thai children and a place of Christian presence and resources for families. We have decided to start much smaller and more relationally. Our first step is to relocate, become rooted in the local community, and begin a simple free hospitality space that feels like a living room — open, creative, and focused on genuine relationship and Gospel presence. There is no commercial activity at this stage. We are exploring possible employment with a Christian school as one way to enter and live in Thailand. Many of these positions pay minimally or treat it as a missionary role, so we still need partners who will cover the majority of our living costs. At the same time we are continuing to build savings toward the fuller Store House vision. This is a multi-year process. We are taking it one faithful step at a time.
