Currently serving inCalifornia, United States
We are Johnny and Lisa Bowers, full-time missionaries, pastors, and parents serving through The Father’s House Church in Oroville, California. Together, we have served as full-time missionaries for the past 12 years and as pastors for the past 7. We are also raising our two children, Benton, 9, and Livie-Jane, 6, with a desire to live as a family that takes the words of Jesus seriously and makes the Gospel visible through everyday life. Our ministry focus includes discipleship, preaching and teaching, pastoral and prayer counseling, addiction recovery ministry, worship leading, leadership development, mentoring ministry school students, community outreach, media and communications, and equipping others for vocational ministry. Matthew 25:31–46 deeply shapes the way we understand missions. We believe feeding the hungry, caring for people in need, visiting the imprisoned, welcoming the overlooked, and serving those Jesus places in front of us are not simply good ideas, they are part of what He has called ALL His followers to do. Locally, we serve within a ministry that reaches thousands of people through food distribution, recovery ministry, jail outreach, community events, marketplace ministry, and a vocational ministry school called School of Transformation. The work we help carry here also generates resources that support missions internationally, including ministry in the Philippines, Nepal, South Africa, India, and Pakistan. Our desire is to continue serving here in America while increasingly traveling to teach, preach, strengthen churches and ministries, and help others implement practical ministry models that make disciples and serve their communities. We believe America is a mission field. We believe the Gospel should go to all nations, including this one. And we want our lives to remain available wherever Jesus asks us to go.
